Every spectacle wearer knows how annoying it is when your lenses fog up, e.g. when you come in from the cold and enter a heated room or want to enjoy a hot drink, cook, play sports or work using protective eyewear. Fogged-up glasses are an annoying issue for every spectacle wearer, and for a long time there was almost no feasible solution to this problem – until now. ZEISS AntiFOG is a spray which, in conjunction with the accompanying cloth, can be quickly applied to both sides of the lens. The result: the lens stays fog-free for up to 72 hours without interfering with its optical quality.
Using AntiFOG
In order to ensure that ZEISS AntiFOG works optimally, the lenses should first be cleaned with a special ZEISS lens cleaning wipe. Moisten the cloth by pressing once or twice on the ZEISS AntiFOG spray and spread generously on both sides of lens until the surface is completely dry.
ZEISS AntiFOG spray leaves behind a thin film – comparable with a temporary additional coating – on the lenses. This ensures that fine, condensed water droplets cannot adhere to the lens surface. Thanks to the cloth, this process is quick, gentle and does not damage the lens coating. If the lenses need to be cleaned again – no more than 72 hours later – it is recommended that you repeat this lens care process using ZEISS AntiFOG to ensure optimum protection against fogged-up lenses.
This product can be used without any problem with coated snow goggles, sunglasses, helmet visors, ski, swimming and diving goggles as well as with lenses for computer glasses, protective eyewear and camera lenses.
Why do spectacle lenses fog up?
Humidity causes water to condense on the lenses. Many small droplets form a non-transparent surface across the lens. The individual droplets create a so-called contact angle on the lens. The larger the angle, the hazier your vision becomes. With ZEISS AntiFOG spray, the water droplets encounter a flat film, ensuring that there is no contact angle. The end result when the contact angle = 0°: the lens does not fog up.
